Qtel launches country’s first mobile internet service

Qatar Telecom (Qtel) has announced the launch of the country’s first mobile internet service, Mobinet, providing GPRS internet access to its GSM post-pay customers. The launch forms the first phase of Qtel’s efforts to ramp up its data service offerings to capitalise on increased demand for high speed business services and entertainment content. Customers will be able to use the new service to surf the internet, check email and access their corporate intranet whilst on the move.
