Telenor Q2 topples analysts expectations

25 Jul 2003

Nordic telecoms giant Telenor has reported better than expected second quarter profits, causing it to raise its forecast for 2003. EBITDA for the three months ending 30 June 2003 rose to NOK4.35 billion, up from NOK3.21 billion in the corresponding period last year, and well ahead of the NOK3.92 billion predicted by analysts. The bulk of this figure was attributable to a strong performance from the operator’s key mobile division, which reported a NOK51 million surge in EBITDA to NOK2.28 billion. Total revenue for the quarter was up 10% year-on-year to NOK13.22 billion.
