Nokia selects Samsung to provide memory chips

24 Jul 2003

Worldwide equipment supplier Nokia is rumoured to be using the Samsung NOR-based flash memory chip in some of its handsets, despite the two being competitors in the mobile handset market. The two companies made the agreement on the quiet with Nokia having already signed contracts with other suppliers, such as Intel, for the supply of the hardware. The discovery is likely to heat up the flash memory market.
