Tele2 embarks on fourth GSM network venture

Tele2 has launched its fourth Russian GSM network, introducing services under the Tele2 brand name in the Kemerovo Region of southwestern Siberia. The pan-European operator is the third company to offer services in the region where mobile penetration stands at around 7%. Its licence covers some three million people in what is a heavily industrialised part of the country; over 87% of the population lives in urban areas.
