BCE and Telus to wrestle for Olympic ‘gold’

10 Jul 2003

Canadian telcos BCE and Telus are squaring up for what could be a marathon tussle to win an eight-year contract as the official telecommunications sponsor to the Olympics. Winning the ‘gold medal’ will give the victor rights to sponsor the Turin Winter Games in 2006, the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing, the Vancouver-Whistler Games of 2010 and the Summer Games in 2012. BCE currently holds the contract until 2004 and hopes its experience will hold it in good stead when it bids for a contract renewal.
