Skanova wins broadband rollout contract

8 Jul 2003

TeliaSonera’s new unit Skanova, which is responsible for the group’s wholesale and third party business for fixed and mobile networks in Sweden, has won a contract to build a broadband network in the Municipality of Vansbro. The network, due for completion by the end of 2003, will combine fibre-optic and ADSL technologies, providing high speed internet access in Vansbro, Hulan, Dala-Jarna, Nas, Uppsalje and Appelbo.

Broadband is an important revenue stream for TeliaSonera. In June 2003 it won contracts with corporates and public authorities worth over SEK2 billion, and with none of the contracts having an order value of more than SEK100 million, the company is championing its ability at securing high order volumes.
