Walker Wireless to launch high-speed network

4 Jul 2003

New Zealand technology company Walker Wireless has said it plans to roll out a high-speed wireless network to the majority of the country within four years. The company, which specialises in wireless local area networks (W-LANs), and data acquisition and identification systems, successfully tested its broadband wireless infrastructure in Auckland last year and plans to start expanding to other cities in the next few months. Walker has said it will target customers to Telecom New Zealand’s high-speed JetStream network with its new offering, claiming it may sell some services for half the price of its rival.
