EDS wins USD178 million worth of deals

Texas-based EDS has secured five new contracts valued at more than USD178 million. The first deal was awarded by Italian banking group Banca Antonveneta for the supply of business continuity services via a fibre-optic cables between the bank’s infrastructure and EDS’s data centres. The second is a five year deal with Bouygues Telecom of France to manage mission critical IT infrastructure. The third contract is a renewal from Netherlands Railways for desktop services, under which EDS will manage 2,000 desks and provide helpdesk services for a period of 56 months. The fourth deal was struck with South African life assurance company Sage Life for mid-range hosting and applications development services, extending the current contract until 2010. The final deal was won from the UK’s Post Office to provide cheque and TV licence processing services.
