Regulator announces second attempt to offload 3G licences

1 Jul 2003

The Norwegian Post and Telecommunications Authority (PT) has announced plans to auction the two 3G mobile licences that were returned following a previous beauty contest. Four national 3G licences were awarded in December 2000 to incumbents Telenor Mobil and NetCom GSM, fixed line telco Tele2 Norge and Broadband Mobil, but the latter two later returned their concessions following financial difficulties. Interested parties have until 29 August to submit bids.
