Japan Telecom Holdings [Munich: 9434.MU], 67% owned by the UK’s Vodafone Group [London: VOD.L], has said that it expects to complete discussions over the sale of its fixed line operations with investment fund Ripplewood Holdings next month. The operator wants to shed its fixed line activities in order to concentrate on its core mobile business (J-Phone). The sale is expected to generate between USD2 billion and USD2.5 billion.
