Microsoft launches cable software

9 Jun 2003

At the annual US cable industry meeting today, Bill Gates is expected to unveil a new software package, Microsoft TV, which will enable customers to access videos and other services on demand. The launch is Microsoft’s second foray into the cable TV market after its failed trials to test broadband software in partnership with AT&T. The company hopes that it will gain a stronger presence in the US cable TV market as a result of the new software tools.
