Dunstone targets German market

Charles Dunstone, chief executive of UK retailer Carphone Warehouse, is this week expected to unveil plans to snap up the German business of Hutchison Telecommunications this week, as the British company attempts to morph itself from a pure retailer into a communications group. Hutchison, which has around 700,000 customers is owned by France Télécom’s mobile arm Orange. The deal could cost as much as GBP40 million.
