Kenya’s telecoms watchdog the Communicatinos Commission of Kenya (CCK) says it has received four applications from companies wishing to offer either voice or data transmission services. According to CCK director Sammy Kirui, Azicon Engineering has applied for a licence to provide a public data network and Digital River has requested a concession to become an ISP. In addition, the regulator says it has received a bid from Comlogic Networks to provide local loop services.
