Vivendi ex-CEO rewarded with 10% pay rise as company posts record loss

It has been revealed that ousted Vivendi Universal chairman and chief executive Jean-Merie Messier received a 10% pay rise in 2002, despite bringing the media empire close to the point of bankruptcy. Messier received USD6.1 million whilst the group he left recently reported the biggest ever loss in French history.
