BT rolls up sleeves for war

BT has launched a new price war in the residential landline sector in an attempt to preempt emerging competition from its rivals. The company has announced a three-part tariff strategy aimed at retaining its 73% market share in the face of competition. It claims that under the new BT Together package, which comes into effect from 1 June, customers will be able to save on local and national call rates on evenings and weekends.
