Svenska UMTS-licens seeks 3G delay

1 Apr 2003

Svenska UMTS-licens, the Scandinavian 3G licensee owned by TeliaSonera and Tele2, has requested amendments to the conditions of its concession to enable it to delay the completion of its next-generation network. The company’s application to the Swedish National Post and Telecom Agency cites unforeseeable changes in circumstances, including delays in building permit issues, the lack of certain technical platforms and insufficient terminals as the reasons for its request. Svenska UMTS-licens claims it will meet coverage requirements by 31 December 2005.
