France Télécom under fire for anti-competitive practices

1 Apr 2003

France Télécom (FT) has been subjected to a number of raids on its offices by the country’s competition watchdog in recent weeks following a number of complaints from customers and one formal complaint from Aforst, the lobby group of FT’s competitors. The PTO is accused of employing illegal methods to regain customers who have moved to alternative carriers. FT’s ‘win-back’ campaign has been heavily criticised by alternative operators Tele2 and LDCom, both of which have sued the French incumbent for lost revenues.
