TeliaSonera announces fresh ADSL initiative

Nordic telecoms giant TeliaSonera has announced a major new initiative to provide ADSL connections for a further 100,000 homes in Sweden. The Swedish part of the newly merged entity will roll out its ADSL service to another 104 switching centres in 73 municipalities in southern and central regions of the country. The company claims that around 450,000 customers already have broadband access through agreements with alternative operators leasing capacity from its network. Rollout will be completed in six months time.
