27 Mar 2003

UK utility company British Gas will invest BRL150 million in its Brazilian telecoms subsidiary Iquara over the next three years to roll out a fibre-optic network across the Sao Paulo metropolitan region. The new network, dubbed Aura, will run alongside existing gas pipelines and will eventually extend 200km. BG expects the new network to serve the SME segment, offering a host of broadband services.
