BT chiefs call in the Indians

7 Mar 2003

BT has risked the wrath of major UK unions by announcing that it is to open call centres in the Indian cities of Bangalore and New Dehli, employing 2,200 people by 2004. The UK telco has tried to calm any fears by saying that no permanent staff will be made redundant and that any reductions in agency postings will be met through natural wastage.
