Sony Ericsson seeks upturn in fortunes through new handsets

Sony Ericsson aims to improve its image in the global handset market through the launch today of a new range of mobile phones geared towards the mid-tier market. The vendor has been dogged by rumours of technical difficulties and clashes between its Swedish and Japanese parents. Its market share last year stood at less than 6%, compared with the 7%-10% its owners had predicted.
