DT to sell shares in Russia’s MTS

4 Mar 2003

Deutsche Telekom says it is optimistic that its proposed sale of shares in Russian mobile operator MTS will take place in coming weeks, in a move which should raise EUR500 million. The German PTO holds 40% of MTS and aims to sell a 10% stake to Sistema, which would give the Russian investment group a holding of just over 50%. Deutsche Telekom would then sell an additional 5% on the stock exchange.
