Broadband awareness hits 84%

A new consumer research document from UK telecoms watchdog Oftel shows that 84% of UK internet customers are aware of the benefits of broadband technology, compared to just 50% in February 2002. According to the report around 30,000 new broadband connections are made each week, taking the total number of users to 1.4 million. The average household spends around nine hours a week online, with one in ten homes using a broadband connection.
