Do mobile phones kill sparrows?

13 Jan 2003

The British Trust for Ornithology is investigating whether electromagnetic waves from mobile masts are responsible for the disappearance of up to ten million sparrows from the UK. Around 30,000 bird watchers have been charged with the task of examining urban sparrow populations to see whether the explosion in masts could have effected the bird’s reproductive organs. Broadsheet The Observer reports that London has seen a 75% decline in the number of sparrows since 1994.
