Motorola predicts 8%-10% growth in 2003

8 Jan 2003

The world’s second largest handset manufacturer Motorola anticipates handset and equipment sales will pick up in 2003, achieving growth of between 8% and 10%. Moreover, the company’s president and chief operating officer was upbeat in predicting that all six of the group’s principal business units would be ‘cash flow and profit generating’ in 2003. Motorola’s prediction for handset sales – based on worldwide sales of 390 million in 2002 – was roughly in line with earlier guidance given by rivals such as Nokia.
